Day 2 - Yokohama to Mito (Hitachinaka)

Yokohama to Mito (HItachinaka)

Got to see our 808 friends before they jumped on the Princess Cruise ship and was blessed to hug and fellowship with them before our next stop - Mito.

We got a chance to grab lunch with Chad in Yokohama as he had to come down to his workplace for the day.   Blessed to see him for bit on our first full day here in Japan.  Gyu Tonkatsu was ono!

Hitomi and I then got on our 2 shinkansen train ride thru Tokyo Staion and then to Mito (about 1 hour & 50 minute total train ride).  

Our hotel in Mito is on the banks of Sakura river and we were able to see a few remainng Sakura blooming.

Part of our vacation is a mission trip to bless the land and the people we meet.  Hitomi was able to blow her pu (conch shell) from a bridge over the Sakura River facing towards the Pacific ocean.  We are brining peace and blessings from the 808 to land of the rising Son.  Was pretty cool.

We finished up our long day 2 withi Ramen and Japanese pastry - Japanese food is so oishi (ono-good)

Before I close out this blog, thank you all for your prayers and suport.  We are so blessed by your prayer covering and aloha for us.  It's only the beginning of this journey, but God has been showing up in word, pictures, opportunites and people to bless and to show Aloha to.

Finally, our hotel room in Mito was like a 10 minute walk from the station. Our room given to us is Room #808

2 things stuck out to me and it was a great rminder of what God is truying to show us in this trip.

1) 808 is the area code for Hawaii..wow...chicken skin kine.  Reppin the 808 is all about aloha and the love of God and love of people to Japan.  There are many ministries that have sowed the seeds and continue sowing the seed of Jesus in Japan and our part is to partner with all those prayers, all the soil that has been laid, sown and prayed over the many years of ministry work in Japan.  God's love is needed by all of us so that we can turn to Him and run to Him in the midst of whatever lifestage we are in.  

2)  The number 808 has biblical signicance to us all.  The number 8 represents new beginnings, a new order or creation.  808 with 0 in the middle of 2 number 8's has a meaning of new love, dealing with change and having an increased faith.  I believe God was sharing with me today, that the new love of Jesus is what Japan is heading for...to come into an intimate relationship with the Triune God and that in the past chaos and times of covid and shutdown and living in fear is the dealing with change and having an icreased and new faith with Jesus.  It is all about aloha God aloha people (love God and love people). 

Might sound a bit out there, but I believe the 808 room was a reminder for me that God is in control of all things and my job or my calling is to be obedient in all that He is asking me to be frist and do second.  This trip is all about being obedient to what God is aking Hitoim and I to do in this time here.
